THE WHEELBARROW BOY
Often times I've wondered,
What is the hope of the poor man
in this country?
If the poor can't pity the poor, then
Where are we heading to?
We complain of bad government,
We say the rich are greedy and stingy.
The poor man suffers everything because they
find themselves at the bottom of the food chain.
We are all struggling to survive.
It is now survival of the fittest.
So when the rich is done oppressing the poor,
the poor ( crooks that work for the government) then continues to oppress the poor.
The wheelbarrow boy should be in school
but he finds himself in the market place trying
to meet ends meet.
From the little he makes, the lazy aggressive poor
man would tax him on it.
He is been oppressed everyday. Not just him,
but others like him.
The water seller, the bus driver and many more.
The tax man wants him to pay but yet he discharges his customers when he can't pay.
Then how can he pay?
He works under the scorching sun for just little
nuts at his own detriment.
He gets customers that would price without pity.
He is abused by the crooks.
He has destroyed customer's goods by mistake.
His skin is harder than that of a crocodile .
He probably would have a bent back when he is old.
Some don't even smile anymore.
Life is hard. Yes it is.
But if we show love and share what we have,
If we know the value of everyone, then
we would no longer oppress our fellow man.
If the rich can't help the poor, then let the poor
help the poor.
" She's here! What should I do with her? How am I going to do this? Where should I start from? Oh God, I can't. I just can't. She's cute but she's stuck with me now. I don't think I can do this." Jay wouldn't stop lamenting. Her daughter has just been born. It was her first child. It wasn't an easy ordeal for her, but she didn't want to think about it. She's was protecting her mental health. Her fears almost consumed her. Not until her baby was brought to be fed had she felt any connection. The moment her baby latched to her breast, it was a different experience entirely. One she will never forget. It felt like a message. One that said, "Hey mummy, I couldn't wait to do this with you. I am yours fully. I depend strongly on you. You are my mother and I know that. I wouldn't give up on you. I wouldn't let you go. I am here for you and I love you." Words could not express how she felt. She saw her baby's helples...
